excuses, excuses. . .

As on of my teachers says "he who makes excuses, accuses himself" so i am not going to even try to excuse why we have not had a blog entry in so long. But guess what? The Fin Fam is back! We figured we might as well start where we left off, so we can catch everyone up on our life.

when we went to California we (of course) visited Lego land.
There was a new Indiana Jones ride but it wasn't that great, it broke down on us. We were excited though to find these sweet hats and goggles.

Eli and Joel absolutely loved the water park.

This year my dad wanted us to visit the gemological society, it actually ended up being pretty cool. they had a lot of interesting stuff.

We also went to the Polynesian cultural celebration and saw some of the most amazing fire dancers! check it out!

Sky Coaster

Every time I go to Lagoon I say that I will ride the SkyCoaster. Well this time two of my friends and I actually bucked up enough courage and really did it! The launch tower is 153 feet tall and the arch is 173 feet tall. The fliers, up to 3 at a time, are raised up to a height of 143 feet. When they are instructed to do so, one of the fliers pulls the rip cord (that was me!) and then the fliers drop rapidly, reaching speeds up to 80 miles per hour (talk about G-force!) and experiencing sensations similar to hang gliding and skydiving.

Our True Idol

Happy birthday Ethan! You are the real American idol!

homemade

This year for Ethan's birthday Ethan wanted everything to be homemade. Homemade root beer, homemade french fries, homemade ice cream, and best of all homemade hamburgers. The food was delicious and every one seemed to like it, but it was so dang good that we just had to take it very seriously . . .

Happy Easter!

This Easter we just want to say how grateful we are for such kind patient family, fun friends, and most of all, the Saviors endless atonement for all of us.

whats up dawg?

Many of you cant believe that we got a dog . . . . honestly, neither can we. Here is the Readers Digest condensed version of how the Finlinson children dreams came true. (we suggest you grab a box of tissues it's an extremely heart warming story.)

A couple weeks ago my dad came home telling us that our neighbors were moving and had offered to give us their dog. When Eli and Joel heard that we could possibly get a new puppy they were ecstatic! My dad quickly crushed their hopes by telling them "your mom agrees with me, we are NEVER getting a dog for this family". . . .He soon found out that my mom did not agree with him. She said "we need a dog for our family" We found out that the old saying is true. If mama ain't happy, no one is happy. Well you know how the story ended, we got Logan a four year old cocker spaniel, who is the perfect dog for us! (Ethan and I can now say we are professional pooper scooper's, not exactly what we have always aspired for, but hey at least we are pro at something!)
